Connect Business Central to Afakto

Sync your Buyers and Receivables from Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central into Afakto, with no files to prepare.

What does this integration do?

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is Microsoft's ERP for small and mid-sized businesses. The Business Central integration lets you automatically sync your Buyers and Receivables into Afakto, with no files to prepare. Your accounting data becomes available in Afakto to prepare and automate assignments to your factor, with no manual re-entry.

Prerequisites

  • An active Afakto account with at least one company set up

  • A Business Central instance whose web services (OData) are reachable from the internet

  • A Business Central user for Afakto, with its username and password or Web Service Access Key

Step 1: Gather your Business Central connection details

Ask your Business Central administrator or partner for the following information:

  • Base API URL: the address of your Business Central web services, for example https://hostname:7048/BC140

  • Username: the Business Central user Afakto will connect with

  • Password / Web Service Access Key: the password or Web Service Access Key of this user

Recommendation: create a dedicated Business Central user for Afakto, with access restricted to customers and customer ledger entries.

Step 2: Open the company in Afakto

  1. Log in to Afakto at app.afakto.com

  2. In the left sidebar, click Administration, then Companies

  3. Select the company you want to connect to Business Central

Step 3: Enter your Business Central credentials

  1. On the company profile page, click the Connect ERP button at the bottom

  2. From the list of available connectors, select Business Central

  3. In the Connect to Business Central window, fill in the Base API URL, Username and Password / Web Service Access Key fields

If credentials have already been entered for another company of your organization, the window displays Using organization credentials and the fields are already filled in. Click Edit credentials only if you need to change them.

Step 4: Select the Business Central company

  1. Once the credentials are entered, open the Select Business Central Company dropdown

  2. Select the Business Central company that matches your Afakto company

  3. Click Connect

Step 5: Your company is connected

  1. The company profile now displays a Business Central section

  2. Click the Sync button to launch the first synchronization

  3. Once the sync is complete, your Buyers and Receivables are available in Afakto

Managing the connection

From the company profile in Afakto, the Business Central section allows you to:

  • Sync: trigger a synchronization at any time to pull the latest data

  • Log out: disconnect Business Central from this company

Frequently asked questions

Can I connect multiple companies?
Yes. One Business Central company corresponds to one Afakto company. If several Afakto companies belong to the same organization and share the same Business Central instance, the credentials only need to be entered once. You then select the Business Central company matching each Afakto company.

How do I disconnect Business Central?
Go to the relevant company profile in Afakto and click Log out in the Business Central section.
